MISS NEWTON COUNTY PAGEANT 2012 TO BE HELD JUNE 2ND AT THE HUB CONVENTION CENTER.

Big Changes for the Miss Newton County Pageant
The 2011 Miss Newton County Pageant will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 5pm at The Hub at Marble Falls.  Private interviews for Junior Miss and Miss will begin at 2pm.  Entry forms can be found below or at:  Rebekah Lane Formal Wear in Harrison, Beautiful You in Harrison, Newton County Times in Jasper, Eagle Rock Cafe in Mt. Judea, Clayborn's Grocery in Deer, and in the Fair Catalog in the July 6th edition of the Newton County Times.
Junior Miss and Miss at State
The Miss Newton County Pageant has undergone some major changes for 2011.  Miss, ages 17-21, and now Junior Miss, ages 13-16, queens can have the opportunity to move on to the Arkansas State Fair Queens contest, as long as all rules set by the Arkansas State Fair have been met.  Attending the state contest is no longer a requirement.  View the compete rules for state.
Categories for Miss and Junior Miss
Miss Contestants will compete in the following categories:  Evening Gown, Private Interview, On-Stage Introduction, and Outfit of Choice (anything "off the rack.")  No swimwear competition.
Junior Miss Contestants will compete in the following categories:  Evening Gown, Private Interview, On-Stage Introduction, and Sportswear.
All attire must be tasteful.  The director reserves the right to disallow any outfit that is deemed inappropriate.
Residency Changes
The residency requirement (for the Miss Newton County Pageant only) has also been changed.  The rule now states:  This pageant is open to any single girl (or boy in the Mr Divisions) who meets ONE of the following residency criteria (proof of residency may be required):
1. has been a resident of Newton County for at least 30 days prior to the pageant date.
2. has a parent OR legal guardian OR grandparent that has been a resident of Newton County for at least 30 days prior to the pageant date.
3. has attended an academic school in Newton County for the semester immediately preceding the pageant.
This change is to allow more girls and boys with Newton County roots the opportunity to compete.

Practice
An optional practice will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 6-8pm at the Hub.
