NEWTON COUNTY FAIR PARADE

Theme: “Let’s Stirrup Some Fun”!

The Newton County Fair Parade will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 4:30 p.m. Parade will assemble at the Jasper School grounds on Saturday, August 13 at 4 p.m. All parade entries except horses and horse drawn conveyances should come to the back of the school grounds (through the Nance Addition). DO NOT attempt to come in from Clark Street by Special Services building. You will take the next place in line when you arrive and the line will go through the school grounds and along the street.

This years’ Grand Marshals are Nickie Campbell and Dylan Dye, Newton County Young Farmers of the year.

·        Horses and horse trailers should go directly to Bradley park and line up. All horses must have current Coggins tests. Papers will be checked. Trucks and Horse Trailers must stay on the roads. DO NOT drive across the grass.

·        The Color Guard, Grand Marshal, and Royalty will line up beside the Special Services Building on the Clark Street entrance. All other parade entries must come in through the Nance Addition on the backside of the school grounds.

·        Entries will be judged on appearance, theme and originality. Decision of the judges is final.

·        Judges will consider depiction of the theme as part of the score in selecting winners.

·        NO entry will be judged that has not registered prior to the beginning of the parade. Bring a parade registration, with the following information:

·        Name of person, business or organization entering.

·        Contact phone number.

·        Category to be judged in.

·        Names of contestants on float, if applicable.

·        Give your entry to the judge when you arrive and take the next place in line. Stay in line. If you move your float out of line, your place will be given to the next entrant to arrive and you will have to re-register.

·        Parade winners will be posted on Saturday night rodeo. Trophies may be picked up at the Fair Office.

·        All horses once mounted must be kept west of the school grounds entrance, until the parade starts. All 4-Wheelers must be parked and shutoff until the parade starts.

·        Anyone who does not follow the rules will be disqualified and asked to leave. Coggins papers will be checked on horses and mules as required by State law.

Categories are:

Best Float - Truck, Best Float - Trailer, Best Dressed Junior and Senior Cowboy and Cowgirl, Best Horse Drawn Conveyance, Best Decorated Four-Wheeler, Most Classy Car and Best Decorated Conveyance for Pageant Royalty.
